A real thin screen until bendable is recent breakthrough. This technology can make perfect flat screen TV with liquid crystal technology (LCD) which available in market nowadays.

If accidentally fell, screen with this newest technology will not break because it’s very flexible. This newest screen combines two technology types there is: thin organic transistor layer which applied to make screen having flexible character, and organic electroluminescent screen that bloom the light if flown by elekron.

"In the future, this screen can be placed in billboard, watch, even applied in clothes," said Chisato Kitsukawa from Sony. "Possibly the technology also can used as wallpaper"

But, this screen technology is not able to present sharpness as good as LCD and plasma. Sony also tells that the screen technology has not deciced to be commercial and become mass product.

"To reach good picture quality with flexible screen requires long time more. Or with other word still difficult to be reached," said Tatsuo Mori, a professor from science and computer technology, Univercity of Nagoya.

Mori tells that much to do than this screen technology is ready to be commercial product. The things are how to make the screen in the larger size, determines screen resilience, and lessens production cost.

Other company like LG. Philips LCD Co. and Seiko Epson Corp. also develops the paper screen technology with different technique. But, Sony tells that organic electroluminescent screen technology can give better colour picture and more suited for presenting colour video.

President Sony Ryoji Chubachi tells that screen technology as thin as film is main technology is being developed by the company to increase company status as stronger technology center. In meeting with mass media one year ago, Chubachi tells that Sony is doing a real thin flat screen technology so can be furled like paper. He predicts that world will lift hat and confess the company greatness.

Some observers tell that Sony as company which producing Walkman and PlayStation 3 has failed by the competitors in the case of flat screen technology. That Is Samsung Elektronik Co. from North Korean and Sharp Corp. from Japan. But Sony has broken the opinion.
